Responsibilities:

General Description: With a minimum of supervision, perform a wide variety of tasks in maintaining, repairing, and installing pumps/machinery related to the waist water operations.  

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain SMP wastewater treatment system.Maintain all equipment associated with wastewater and barrel farm and oversee etch area equipment Contact maintenance as needed.Responsible for ordering of supplies and transferring of bulk and waste caustics from/to tankersCommunicate with Operations, Plant Engineering, and Maintenance.Understand and perform the chemical testing and make up requirements for the wastewater system, etch area and autoclave area and any logging requirements associated with tests.Monitor autoclave run chartsAssist Dept 650 in process issues and communications to area engineer.Will accumulate and handle hazardous waste.Eastlake wastewater system check as needed.Maintain tower and boiler water treatment chemicals and perform testing.Release ceramic material and blast material and clean and cap materials as defined by WW supervisor.Additional training in dept. 620 for testing and assistance to area engineer may be required.Ensure that the high standard of 6s and housekeeping is maintained in the department at all times.Manage handle hazardous waste in accordance with company policy. Monitor company programs to ensure that all employees comply with safety regulations and procedures.Support/lead safety improvements in areaAssist department in maintaining compliance to MT’s, SOP’sFacilitate chemical ordering and inventory for the etch & Autoclave areasReview all lab data for engineeringSupport/ lead hazardous waste shipping and disposal in areaSupport /lead field work in the areaSupport / lead water treatment programSupport/ Lead  ETCH/ Wastewater PMCoordinate training for junior wastewater techniciansAssist engineering with auditsOther duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

Able to understand and operate a complicated multi-step system.Problem solving skills that allow the logical diagnosis of system faults.Must be able to organize and record data (Use of excel).Must be able to relate the operational data to the physical processes in the wastewater system.Detailed knowledge of the wastewater system’s effects within the plant as well as SMP’s permit status.Willing to learn the skills required to perform first level maintenance on the system.Willing to learn the skills required to perform titration and Ph tests and use of calipers.Physically capable of lifting 35 pounds (must be able to move diaphragm pumps into place as well as service the filter press). /*generated inline style */   All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran. /*generated inline style */ This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
