What you'll do: 

Undertake collection of various waste streams including, manufacturing, domestic and recyclable wastes from all departments and buildings within the Trust including premises remote from the main siteEnsure the correct segregation of all the waste streams collected to meet the Trust waste policy.Encourage recycling materials within your area of workDrive ride-on sweepers and forklift trucks within the site boundariesRoutine Daily checks of electric forklifts and waste handling equipment ensuring operational fitness. Reporting any faults to the Waste Team LeaderUndertake minor repairs to waste bins and other equipment using a range of simple hand toolsEnsure security of waste bins before removal (e.g. not overfull, lid secured and locked)Immediately report any leaks form clinical waste bins and notify the Team Leader, taking all appropriate sections prescribed in the safe systems of work documentationBe conversant with the Safe Systems of Work procedures as they apply to the waste collection incidents.Operate waste handling plant and equipmentOperate power-cleaning equipmentClean waste bins and containersClean workshops, plant rooms plant and machineryMaintain and clean factory yardMovement of materials and equipmentRespond to and complete tasks, schedules or by adhoc request as per company policyUndertake any training required to carry out the duties of the postIdentify and report all waste disposal problems including incorrect disposal by users and potential fire / security hazardsComply with Health and Safety requirements understanding and using safe working practices and utilizing proactive clothing as prescribed and provided.This is not an exhaustive list of duties. The duties may change from time to time in line with the needs of the service and will be discussed between the manager and the postholder
