Job Title: Washlab Technician
Location: Trumbull, CT
Work schedule: Mon- Fri 7am- 4pm
Type: Contract
Requirements
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Prior experience in a lab, production, or hands-on technical role is a plus.
+ Mechanically inclined and comfortable with repetitive, hands-on tasks.
+ Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely.
+ Basic computer skills for data entry and documentation.
+ Good written and verbal communication skills.
+ Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
+ Capable of lifting and moving items up to 30 lbs.
+ Comfortable performing repetitive, hands-on tasks in a lab setting.
Responsibilities:
+ Support the execution of routine laundry product performance tests for prototype evaluation and advertising claims.
+ Perform standardized testing procedures (e.g., stain removal, softening) after training.
+ Follow detailed standard operating procedures for washing, drying, staining, and test preparation.
+ Independently prepare test materials (e.g., labeling fabrics and towels, preparing stains).
+ Work under the guidance of senior staff; no experimental design or research responsibilities.
+ Operate laundry equipment and basic lab instrumentation.
+ Communicate with test requesters to clarify product details and test setup, as needed.
+ Ensure stains are applied accurately and consistently, and that test results meet quality standards.
+ Maintain lab cleanliness and supply inventory; assist with basic data collection for analysis by senior scientists.
+ Collect and compile test data for review by department scientists.
+ Assist with inventory and restocking of lab supplies.
+ Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area.
+ Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
