Technical leadership, and capacity development
Lead and develop a competent WASH team providing response planning for BHA objectives to communities in WVV area programs.Motivate those in charge of technical implementation to ensure high quality service delivery, on-going coaching, and input into performance management.Ensure WVV Inclusive WASH activity implementation in is line with appropriate standards and industry best practices (government, industry best practices on humanitarian accountability, disability in programming, and integration) by:Leading Inclusive WASH training sessions for WVV staff as identified and planned for by teams during Annual Planning.Liaising with relevant government bodies on current standardsLiaising with relevant government bodies for approval and sign off on proposed designsLiaising with identified engineers on appropriate design developmentMonitoring and signing off on BOQ’s (Bill of quantities) for construction projectsMonitoring Inclusive WASH technical implementation at the field levelConducting final quality assurance check on all infrastructure construction with relevant partnersLead annual planning events, ensuring maximum team participation and fostering a culture of teamwork and understanding of program objectives.20%
Coordinate Program Quality (DME) and Operational Support
Be aware of and provide support to WASH technical approaches relevant to the Vanuatu context.Lead the project team to ensure that implementation is timely, in line with the agreed work plans, meets local and international technical specifications and is of high quality.Assistance in delivery of reporting to development partners, as agreed in the grant contract.Support in providing T6 logframe financial report variance explanations as needed.Contribute WASH technical expertise to programming (including funding proposals) and/or liaise with appropriate technical advisor to coordinate regular support.Proactively raise risks (and mitigation plans/actions where applicable) in a timely manner to Senior Management including Operations Manager, Finance Manager, and Program Quality Manager.Provide technical knowledge, insight and support in all WASH monitoring and evaluation reviews when needed.5%
Representation and Networking
Represent WV at key stakeholder meetings, including attending and engaging in WASH cluster meetings as needed. In the event of a disaster/emergency response, serve as WVV’s technical focal point for the technical sector.5%
Administration
Ensure that all relevant WASH sector plans, tools and final reports are filed in the WVV Shared folderEnsure monthly planning is documented and filed in the shared folder.Ensure that DF are regularly completing reporting and tracking documents relevant to Technical Areas of IWASH into the shared folder.Submit financial acquittals within the given timeframe.[As required]
