Job Title: Wash Bay Technician Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Wash Bay Technician to support our Operations Department. In this role, you'll be responsible for cleaning, preserving, and handling gearboxes, mainshafts, and related parts and tools—primarily for our wind gearbox aftermarket operations. As the role evolves, it will expand to support both new and aftermarket industrial gear solutions. This is a hands-on position critical to maintaining product quality and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform washing, inspecting, and preserving of mechanical components, including gearboxes and mainshafts.
+ Set up, operate, and maintain wash station equipment and tools according to operational guidelines.
+ Interpret and follow blueprints, work instructions, and equipment maintenance procedures.
+ Handle components using proper tools (e.g., clamps, wrenches, fixtures) for cleaning and inspection processes.
+ Verify parts against specifications using measuring tools and shop math skills.
+ Adhere to production schedules and complete tasks efficiently and on time.
+ Participate in continuous improvement activities and support process timing studies.
+ Maintain cleanliness and organization of individual and shared workstations in line with 5S standards.
+ Attend scheduled meetings such as daily production and weekly safety meetings, as needed.
+ Comply with all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical safety (MSDS), and equipment inspections (e.g., cranes, forklifts, workstations).
+ Follow internal quality standards and procedures aligned with ISO and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines.
+ Demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
Qualifications
+ Ability to understand and work with both Imperial and Metric measurements.
+ Comfortable using hand tools and basic measuring instruments.
+ Ability to read and comprehend technical documents, procedures, and instructions.
+ Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
+ Forklift and overhead crane certification is a plus (or willingness to be trained).
