Responsibilities

Ensure safe work practices, i.e. attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other relevant policies, procedures and guidelines.

Use pressure-washing equipment on required items per wash bay process.

Clean the interiors of the Trucks per wash bay process.

Liaise with superior to receive work assignments and discuss day-to-day operational requirement, achievements and improvements.

Perform daily cleaning of designated area without causing a disruption to the workforce.

Ensure proper usage of cleaning chemicals, detergents in right proportions as instructed by the supervisor for cleaning and disinfecting purposes.

Follow various cleaning methods such as washing, sweeping, dusting, moping, scrubbing, polishing etc. in line with the directions from the superior.

Empty wastebaskets and effectively manage and store all refuse in the assigned disposable area 

Wash and sanitize, as well as maintain all equipment provided.

Secure and acknowledge room and office keys from Site Services Foreman’s office

Assist in movement and storage of raw materials and equipment as necessary.

Request for cleaning supplies to supervisor well in advance to avoid delay /disruption of service. 

Maintain a high level of cleanliness and Hygiene at all times. 

Perform any other task assigned by his superior within the scope of the job.

Qualification requirements

Secondary school education.

Sound knowledge of Mining Safety Regulations and best practice.

Experience and Competencies needed

Working knowledge of safety standards of equipment.

Basic knowledge of cleaning and associated equipment usage

Good interpersonal skills

Experienced in maintenance practices and techniques.
