Are you passionate about transforming data into actionable insights that drive product quality and customer satisfaction? We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Data Science Manager to lead Warranty Analytics and Programs within our North America Technical Services organization.
This high-impact role blends advanced data science with deep operational knowledge of warranty processes, product reliability, and customer service. You will lead a talented team of data scientists, analysts, and system owners, driving predictive analytics and early detection of emerging warranty trends using diverse datasets across the enterprise.
We’re looking for a visionary leader with strong program management skills, technical depth, and a customer-centric mindset. Your ability to influence cross-functional teams and implement sustainable, fair warranty policies will be key to success. A background spanning product development, quality assurance, and dealer/aftersales operations is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Strategy:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of data scientists, analysts, and warranty system owners. Define and execute a forward-looking data strategy for warranty analytics and reporting. Align analytics initiatives with business goals across engineering, quality, service, product, and IT teams.Data Science & Analytics:
Build and deploy predictive models to forecast warranty claims, failure rates, and cost trends. Analyze complex datasets to support root causes of product failures. Serve as System Administrator for SAS Base and Enterprise Guide, ensuring optimal tool performance. Develop intuitive dashboards and KPIs to monitor warranty health and product reliability.Warranty Operations Programs & Support:
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline data workflows and improve data integrity. Champion best practices in data governance, model validation, and documentation.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field 8+ years of experience in data science, including 2+ years in a leadership role Proven expertise in warranty analytics, reliability engineering, or technical service Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, QlikSense, Tableau) Experience with machine learning frameworks and cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure, GCP) Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skillsPreferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Six Sigma, FMEA, and other quality improvement methodologies Industry experience in automotive, manufacturing, or consumer electronics Hands-on experience with SAS Base, SAS native language, and Enterprise Guide Familiarity with ERP and warranty systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce) Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
