Warranty Claims Writer

**Position Summary:**
A Penske Warranty Claims Writer prepares documents to be sent to vehicle or component manufacturers for warranty reimbursement that will offset the running cost of the Penske fleet. This entails assessing repair documents to determine warrantable failures, researching and / or requesting any additional information required, and using manufacturer specified labor operation codes, part numbers and processes to prepare the documents.
**Major Responsibilities:**
- Review repair documents for multiple accounts on a continual basis.
- Process any warrantable documents for warranty submission to the appropriate manufacturers
- Interact with manufacturers and Penske associates to ensure that claims are processed completely and correctly in a timely fashion
- Engage in analysis when requested
- Provide awareness to any failure trends found through daily processing
- Change between accounts/manufacturers as directed
- Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
**Qualifications:**
- Diesel mechanic or automotive experience
- 2 years of prior warranty claim writing experience preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Ability to produce a high volume of work and remain accurate
- Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required (Access is a plus)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Six Sigma Green Belt preferred
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
