OVERVIEW
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for assisting in the oversight of all warehouse activities including inventory control, shipping and receiving, customer relations and directing employees.
DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assuring the proper loading and unloading of trucks from the loading dock in an efficient manner Tracking product inventory to ensure appropriate availability and make sure items are delivered to or from the warehouse as expected Responsible for organizing and maintaining a warehouse, ensuring product placement, storage and inventory Interface with the customer in a professional manner to solve problems and answer questions Maintain and coordinate shipping documentation and certifications Overseeing warehouse personnel in a unionized environment
WORK EXPERIENCES
Must have a minimum of two (2) years of proven accomplishments in the supervision of warehouse employees, including training, coaching, and team building or equivalent military experience
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent Associate's Degree or equivalent from an accredited technical school, college, or university is preferred
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Directly supervise and coordinate the day to day duties for union employees Ensure Labor Contract is followed by all employees and reports any potential violation. Initiate disciplinary measures according to the Labor Contract. Review hourly employees’ performance and identify training needs Review daily reports with staff
ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication, leadership, and customer service skills. The ability to make decisions, problem-solve, prioritize assignments and direct the workforce in a constantly changing, warehouse environment. Must have intermediate computer experience, ideally with SAP, EWM, and Microsoft products. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends, overtime and holidays as needed
