Warehouse Slotter - 1st shift
Position OverviewKeep our communities fed.
Our focus is simple but meaningful, from our distribution centers to our offices — every employee of C&S and their family of companies works to help feed local families, neighbors and communities. As a Slotter, you will maximize production efficiency through effective item placement, warehouse analysis, and maintaining system related logic that affects production work.

Job Description

You will contribute by: 

Placement of new items in the warehouse into location assignments with logical ti/hi and SPOG criteria

Maintain GMP practices, flammability considerations, commodity grouping, and special customer requirements

Analyze aisle movements and make necessary adjustments to enhance productivity & capacity

Perform maintenance moves as suggested by production workers, as well as those discovered through observation or analysis to reduce damage and improve ergonomics

Use item forecast information to assist shipping department with setting up sale/distro staging areas

Consistently maintain all location labels

Maintain production related system logic and suggest modifications as necessary

Balance efficiencies between shipping and receiving to maximize overall capacity & efficiency

Serve as liaison between warehouse and procurement to assist with dimensional issues, as well as description related issues

Monitor and manage WICS exception reports

Manage and communicate physical location repair issues

Assist management in quality related research (i.e. lift transactions, selection assignment issues, etc)

Create layout/environment that minimizes damage, and shrink, as well as contributing to reduction of both

Warehouse : Freezer (-20F to 0F)

Warehouse : Perishable Warehouse (28F to 60F)

Warehouse: Grocery (50F to 90F)

We’re searching for candidates with:

Specialized Knowledge : Computer skills- MS Word, MS Excel (intermediate skills), MS Access, SQL, Mainframe, EDW, DQL.

Special Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, ability and other characteristics required: Demonstrates commitment and ability to work safely. Show reliability and maintain satisfactory attendance. Produce quality work. Ability to maintain required productivity/work expectations • Ability to operate required materials handling equipment (MHE). Attention to detail and accuracy. Good math and reading skills. Ability to use pallet jack or forklift.

Physical abilities: : Never balancing. Occasionally sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Occasionally gripping, carrying, pushing, lifting, pulling carrying up to 60 Lbs. Occasionally climbing up to 4 ft. (Must have fall protection training and using proper fall protection equipment). Frequently standing, handling, fingering and feeling. Frequently standing on surface type (s): Carpet, tile, concrete. Continuously walking on surface type (s): Carpet, tile, concrete. Continuously reaching (level: Waist/overhead, etc). Continuously talking, seeing, hearing, smelling and repetitive movement.
