Main responsibilities:

Warehouse Operations

Supervises warehouse activities for a particular shift/sector to ensure that both incoming and outgoing product are handled properly using proper training, accuracy systems and programs.  Controls production standards as well as, meet projections for labor expenses. Coordinates functions between shifts, to effectively complete the workload, while providing excellent customer service to the stores serviced. Walks all areas of the warehouse with Supervisors; to ensure building conditions are maintained and comply with Company standards, associates are working safely, potential safety hazards are identified and addressed, potential damage is identified and corrected, and gather information concerning product issues pertinent to transportation. Manages daily inventory by monitoring the timeliness and accuracy of inventory adjustments made by supervisors and enforcing consistent warehouse practices in accordance with Company policies and procedures. Ensures that all inbound merchandise is inspected and correct as ordered.  Plans and assign work for most efficient use of personnel and equipment. Supervises and assist in decisions regarding space allocation, slotting and inventory control. Develops and maintains good working relationship with retail division and store personnel.  Works with customers, in person when necessary, to resolve complaints such as bad loads, damage, mis-picks, out-of-stock, and delivery schedules. Assists in the preparation and administration of department budget.  Enforces safety standards to reduce accidents and related expenses resulting from unsafe work practices.  Attend monthly safety committee meeting.

Transportation Operations

Plan and supervise Transportation Department operations to control costs, promote efficiency, and provide good service to retail operations, to include:

Efficient scheduling of deliveries, coordination of back- haul programs and rates. Assist in preparation and effective administration of the department budget.  Ensure compliance with Company and government rules and regulations by all department personnel. Perform driver road testing, training, and qualifications; perform driver audits on computer trip reports. Respond to customer complaints and work to resolve any problems in an efficient and timely manner. Interface with various Company office and retail store personnel and with outside carriers, vendors, etc., to ensure efficient operation and good working relationships are maintained. Make recommendations to Transportation Manager and follow up on approved personnel actions such as:  hiring, terminations, layoff, promotions, and salary increases.  Review and evaluate work of subordinates and prepare performance reports. Assign associates to jobs; instruct them in the proper performance of work; and familiarize them with Company rules and regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

Previous extensive experience and/or formal training or education in warehouse/transportation operations. Possess thorough knowledge of all warehouse and transportation operations, with good working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to transportation Must have working knowledge of government regulations pertaining to warehouse and/or transportation operations. Possess ability to supervise the work of others and to motivate and work with and through others to achieve desired results. Possess good communication skills both oral and written. Possess good computer skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Require the analytical ability to handle administrative duties and mental alertness to deal with frequent interruptions. Most work is performed under typical office conditions. Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk and computer. Work environment is fast paced.

The position will be based in Irvine, CA.

The salary range is $80,100 to $104,260 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility  for exceptional candidates. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay (accrued based on hours worked), PTO/Vacation Pay (accrued based on hours worked)  or Flexible Time Off, paid holidays (8-9 days annually), bereavement pay, and retirement benefits (such as 401(k) eligibility).
