**The Warehouse MHE Trainer / Practical Trainer is responsible for delivering safe, effective, and compliant training and assessments for all warehouse operational staff. The role ensures all employees are fully competent in the use of various MHE and safety procedures to maintain a productive, safe, and compliant working environment.**
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Training & Assessment:**
+ **Deliver practical and theoretical training sessions for the following equipment and safety areas: (Training Provided on any gaps)**
+ **Counterbalance Forklift Truck**
+ **Power Pallet Truck (PPT)**
+ **Low Level Order Picker (LLOP)**
+ **Reach Truck**
+ **Flexi / Bendi Truck**
+ **Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Truck**
+ **Abseil (if site uses fall-arrest or mezzanine systems)**
+ **Manual Handling**
+ **First Aid at Work**
+ **Spill Kit Procedures**
+ **Fire Marshall / Fire Warden Training**
+ **Conduct refresher and conversion training sessions in line with company policy and relevant legislative requirements.**
+ **Assess operator competence and issue or renew licenses/certificates accordingly.**
+ **Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records and certification logs.**
+ **Develop and update training materials, SOPs, and practical assessments to reflect best practice and legislative updates.**
**Health, Safety & Compliance:**
+ **Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture across all warehouse operations.**
+ **Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with company health & safety policies, PUWER, and LOLER regulations.**
+ **Carry out risk assessments for training activities and equipment use.**
+ **Support investigations into incidents or near misses related to MHE or manual handling.**
**Operational Support:**
+ **Inductions and refreshers**
+ **Support warehouse operations by coaching and mentoring staff to continuously improve performance and safety standards.**
+ **Assist in onboarding new employees, ensuring they receive appropriate induction and site-specific training.**
+ **Liaise with team leaders and managers to identify training needs and performance gaps.**
+ **Participate in audits, toolbox talks, and safety briefings as required.**
**Key Skills & Experience:**
+ **Recognized MHE Instructor qualification (e.g. RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, NPORS, or equivalent).**
+ **Proven experience delivering MHE and warehouse safety training in a fast-paced logistics or warehouse environment.**
+ **Strong understanding of health & safety legislation and warehouse operations.**
+ **Excellent communication, coaching, and interpersonal skills.**
+ **High attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.**
+ **First Aid at Work and Fire Marshall qualifications (or willingness to obtain).**
**Desirable:**
+ **Experience with training record management systems**
+ **Flexibility to work shifts or weekends if required to support operational needs.**
+ **IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (desirable but not essential).**
