WHAT YOU DO
You are responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and supporting the team in achieving productivity, accuracy, and safety goals. This role acts as a liaison between warehouse associates and management, providing guidance, training, and hands-on support in all aspects of warehouse functions including receiving, picking, packing, inventory, and shipping.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and coordinate daily warehouse activities to meet operational goals. Assign tasks to team members and monitor progress to ensure timely completion. Train new and existing warehouse team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and equipment use. Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company standards. Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) as needed. Communicate effectively with supervisors, other departments, and team members to resolve issues and improve processes. Assist in performance reviews and provide feedback to support employee development. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, productivity, and shrinkage. Release and assign pick waves to team members. Audit picked orders for accuracy and completeness. Assist with slotting and labeling of pick zones. Resolve product location or scanning issues during picking. Coordinate closely with replenishment and shipping leads. Check and sign off on packing slips, bills of lading, and system entries. Oversee damage reporting and returns to vendors. Verify receiving counts and escalate overages or shortages. Train team on proper unloading and inspection techniques. Coordinate transportation for dock scheduling. Lead a team of pickers to meet daily store order targets. Monitor accuracy, productivity, and correct staging of outbound goods. Ensure team uses RF scanners and follows pick paths efficiently. Provide daily coaching and feedback to associates. Plan and assign tasks for receiving associates. Ensure all inbound deliveries are verified, inspected, and logged correctly. Maintain safe, clean, and efficient dock operations. Monitor daily receiving metrics and escalate discrepancies. Liaise with inventory and replenishment teams to streamline put-away. Report order status and performance metrics to DC Supervisor.QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong leadership and people management experience in warehouse settings. Deep understanding of warehouse operations and supply chain metrics. Understanding of SKU locations, inventory flow, and product handling. Capability to troubleshoot issues in real time (e.g., out-of-stock or mispicks). Ability to delegate and coordinate across leads in various departments. Proficient in interpreting operational data and making real-time decisions. Skilled in enforcing safety and compliance policies. Ability to work various shifts in a 7/365 team orientated environment Able to communicate effectively using the English language Self-starter able to prioritize and handle various tasks simultaneously Ability to adapt to changing priorities and unexpected situations Proficiency required in reading, writing, and mathematics Ability to pass the Federal Criminal History Records Check, Paradies Background Check, and the applicable Department of Transportation requirements Computer work, heavy lifting (40 lbs.), long standing periods, climbing, lifting, bending, nights or weekend work, based in a store or group of stores; early morning, evening and weekend work and holidays Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Standards of Business Conduct Policy Commitment to safety, quality, and speed in fulfillment. High school diploma or GED required; additional training or certification in logistics or warehouse management is a plus. 2+ years of experience in warehouse operations, with at least 1 year in a leadership or team lead role. Strong understanding of warehouse procedures, inventory systems, and safety regulations. Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer applications. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends or overtime as needed. Forklift certification preferred.
