Job Type: Full-time, Interview Required Rate of Pay: $17.00/Hr. Schedule:(Overtime may be required during peak seasons) + Mondays 6 am -3 pm + Tuesday 7 am -3 pm + Wednesday 7 am -3 pm + Thursday 7 am - 7 PM Job Responsibilities: + The APA takes a hands-on approach to overseeing security services and protection, efficiently and effectively, in a Staples Distribution Center. The APA reports to the Asset Protection Manager responsible for their facility and assists them in supporting the Operational team. + Manage lobby security, overseeing all employee and visitor entries and exits to the DC. + Mitigate internal theft by conducting bag and container checks, and screening associates and visitors entering/exiting the facility. + Monitor all inbound and outbound truck activity, including logging trailers, verifying load destinations, and using automated or remote access technology (EAIGLE). + Manage yard security, directing trailers and maintaining the yard database. + Operate and monitor automated truck access technology and remote monitoring systems. + Monitor weapons detection system and weapons detection camera technology. + Deliver results regarding investigations of Theft, Workplace Violence, and Critical Incidents through effective communication. + Prepare prompt and complete reports related to Workplace Violence, Theft, Critical Incidents, and Process Improvement. + Provide results through policy guidance, education, and mitigation strategies to meet business needs. + Serve as department’s liaison for security/crisis management, acting as subject matter expert for site leadership and keeping them informed on key issues, strategies, and performance. + Analyze data, conduct audits, and identify trends to create actionable plans to mitigate risk. + Maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues in the facility. + Accurately communicate verbally and in written form to AP and DC Management. + Train and orient new Associates in AP culture. + Promote and execute security best practices. + Audit physical security infrastructure (i.e., intrusion detection, access control, cameras) and ensure functionality of all systems, including Genetec monitoring, Synergis badge access, NIEO platform, and weapons detection technology. Essential Skills and Experience: + High school diploma or equivalent + 1+ years of experience in the following: security service, asset protection, audit, investigations, law enforcement, military, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance + Flexibility to work occasional afternoons, evenings, weekends/holidays, and overtime as needed + Experience with MS Office Professional Suite, including Excel and Word + Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers + While performing duties of this job, employee will regularly sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch Preferred Skills and Experience: + Familiarity with automated security platforms such as Genetec, Synergis, and NIEO is preferred Get great perks + Generous amount of paid time off + 401(k) plan with a company match, medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and many more benefits + Associate store discount and more perks (discounts on mobile plans, movie tickets, etc.) #LI-KA1 Staples is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
