32 hours/week with flexible scheduling

Maintains confidentiality at all times.Patient Assessment & Critical Decision-Making: Prioritizes the urgency and action needed to address patient requests or problems; Evaluates and assesses patient health needs relative to acuity level; Advises patients about health maintenance guidelines; Refers patients for additional health services as needed; Determines when to consult with a physician or access other providers; Directs patients to appropriate service areas; Recognizes medical emergencies and initiates immediate action.Direct Patient Care & Support: Performs walk-in patient triage; Accompanies patients to the exam room and updates electronic medical records; Prepares patients for exams/procedures; Assists/performs medication administration, dressings, and collecting of lab specimens as instructed; Relays information regarding follow-up care and return visits to patients and families; Respects and promotes patient rights.Workflow Management & Clinical Operations: Checks schedules and organizes patient flow; Schedules tests and procedures as directed; Obtains lab/x-ray reports, hospital records, and referral information as indicated; Completes forms and requisitions as needed; Sets up, cleans, and restocks exam and treatment rooms as directed; Follows all rooming standards per policy and protocol.Customer Service & Communication Excellence: Demonstrates strong customer service skills to positively impact the experience of care for patients, external customers, and internal service partners. Possesses excellent communication skills (both written and verbal). Initiates, conducts, and integrates guest relations activities in a customer-orientated approach to promote the healthcare facility as the provider of choice. Demonstrates interest in and commitment to assuring customer satisfaction. Ability to handle fluctuating call volumes, problem solve, and assess and respond to various patient needs quickly and efficiently.Safety, Quality & Risk Management: Follows all safety procedures, policies, and manufacturer’s instructions. Responsible for the prevention of unsafe work situations. Participates in safety programs and is familiar with general and departmental safety requirements. Identifies needs and concerns involving safety/risk management and quality improvement issues, and participates in the research, action, and evaluation of proposed resolutions/interventions. Attends training and in-service opportunities.Professionalism & Accountability: Assumes responsibility for enhancing personal and professional skills and keeps up-to-date on policy and procedures. Demonstrates ability to organize and exercise judgment and follow through on all commitments. Responsible for maintaining appropriate attendance, health, and hygiene according to departmental and position standards, and is punctual in arriving to work, meetings, and following other schedules.

Requirements
Registered Nurse in the State of Minnesota
Graduate of accredited school of nursing approved by the State Board of Nursing and Associate’s degree
BLS certification
Knowledge of and practical use of good business English, spelling, arithmetic practices and the ability to communicate effectively using written and verbal skills
Preferred
BSN
Three years of recent nursing work experience
Clinic/Physician office experience
