The Department of Pathology - Kadin Lab is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician with a strong educational background in the sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, or mathematics) to support the research and laboratory activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and familiarity with laboratory safety and biosafety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform a variety of laboratory procedures supporting research, clinical, autopsy/necropsy, or geological services.Conduct cell culture and cryopreservation of cells.Execute RNA and DNA extraction, RT-PCR, flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, and light microscopy techniques.Ensure compliance with biosafety and laboratory safety regulations and sanitation protocols.Apply knowledge of research and testing procedures, and animal handling, care, and welfare practices.Provide limited surgical assistance when required.Maintain accurate records and utilize word processing and statistical software (e.g., GraphPad Prism) for data analysis and reporting.Collaborate frequently with co-workers, supervisors, students, faculty, and research staff to discuss study techniques, results, and animal care.Perform additional duties as assigned.This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year.
