Join our team as a Vulnerability Officer and play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable communities in the energy sector. This full-time contract position offers you the opportunity to make a significant impact while working in Tanzania.
Role Overview Develop a detailed understanding of the suite of the project’s RAPs, livelihood restoration plans, and vulnerable peoples’ plan in each RAP. Support the implementation of the RAP Implementation welfare monitoring programme. Maintain vulnerable households register (VHR) by liaising with Zonal team leads and Livelihoods Supervisor to identify Project Affected Households that need urgent follow-up or extended support. Receive details from RAP teams regarding PAPs requiring close monitoring and follow up to review and confirm. Monitor all physically displaced PAPs in designated work areas according to the welfare monitoring schedule. Monitor all economically displaced PAPs in designated work areas according to the welfare monitoring schedule. Oversee monitoring of PAHs receiving transitional support. Assist vulnerable households in filing and resolving grievances. Coordinate with the Grievance Administrator to ensure timely addressing of grievances and communication of feedback. Identify and implement specific measures to support vulnerable households in livelihood restoration programmes. Identify accessibility challenges for vulnerable PAPs to participate in livelihood restoration programmes. Collect and transmit requested vulnerability monitoring data and relevant reports to the Zonal Lead. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to the Zonal Lead as required by the reporting system. Provide additional support to the Livelihoods Supervisor and wider land team as required. Skills & Qualifications Environment Provisioning: Knowledge of environmental management practices. Environmental Compliance Inspection: Ability to conduct inspections and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Environmental Awareness Training Programme: Experience in developing and delivering training programs focused on environmental awareness. Education & Experience Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Social Science, or a related field preferred. Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in community engagement, social impact assessment, or related fields. Pay & Benefits Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
