ABM Industries is seeking a highly skilled and motivated VRF Technician to support a large-scale energy efficiency account focused on delivering innovative HVAC solutions across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties. This role involves extensive travel—up to 100%—to client sites nationwide, providing hands-on expertise in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems. This is a non-union position.
Pay: $35.00 / hour

Key Responsibilities
Install and commission VRF systems (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG) in commercial environments, ensuring optimal performance and energy efficiency. Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on VRF systems and associated HVAC equipment. Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of energy-efficiency projects. Integrate VRF systems with smart building technologies and energy monitoring platforms. Maintain detailed documentation of service activities, system configurations, and performance metrics. Adhere to safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations across all job sites.Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience working with VRF systems in commercial HVAC settings. EPA Universal Certification required; state HVAC license preferred. Strong understanding of refrigerant cycles, electrical systems, and control wiring. Ability to interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and system commissioning software. Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively (up to 100%).Preferred Experience
Experience supporting large, multi-site commercial accounts. Familiarity with IoT-enabled HVAC systems and energy management platforms. Background in sustainability-focused or energy-efficiency projects.A good job for someone just entering the workforce or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education.
