What You Will Do

Reporting to the SVP, Technology, the Vice President, Technology - Data will be responsible for implementing and evolving a comprehensive data strategy that drives business value, enhances decision-making, and enables innovation across the Disney Experiences (DX) segment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in data engineering and architecture leadership, a deep understanding of data management and data governance, and a passion for leveraging data to drive transformational change in operations, Guest & customer experience, and enterprise capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Lead a high-performing data organization, including data management, data governance, data architecture, data cloud strategy and data engineering teamsCoach and develop executive team to grow and evolve capabilities across the DX segment and the Walt Disney company.Lead data engineering and architecture teams to create and lead a holistic segment data management framework that will enable DX to store, manage, and access its data in the most efficient way possible, while also supporting advanced analytics, business intelligence and AIDrive the development and adoption of data management best practices, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and complianceDesign and deliver data products that realize quantifiable value for the segmentCollaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize data-driven initiativesMonetize data through data products, insights, personalization, cross-segment and AI-ready data predictions, efficiencies and productivityServe as a key advisor on data-related issues, providing insights and recommendations that drive informed decision-making and strategic planning. Facilitate cross-DX collaboration to ensure data-driven initiatives are effectively implementedOversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the organization's data architecture, including data warehousing, data lakes, and data integrationChampion a data-driven culture, promoting the value of data as a strategic asset and enabling data literacy and self-service analytics across the organization.Manage, evolve and evangelize DX’s data platform, “Helix”Lead the development and implementation of advanced analytics and AI capabilities to generate actionable insights and drive innovationEstablish and manage strategic partnerships with external data providers, technology vendors, and industry consortia to stay at the forefront of data management and analytics trendsEstablish and manage strategic relationships with key leaders in the company to align on data strategies and vision.Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy and security regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and industry specific requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills

14+ years of related experience in data engineering, with progressive leadership roles, and a proven track record of developing and executing large scale data strategiesDeep technical knowledge of data technologies, platforms and products - Snowflake, DBT, AWS, TableauStrong understanding of advanced analytics techniques and AIProven ability to lead and scale high-performance data teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvementExperience leading data transformation – technical, stakeholder engagement, and organizational changeExceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholdersStrong business acumen and understanding of how data can be leveraged to drive business value and competitive advantageStrong understanding of relevant data privacy and security regulations, as well as industry-specific data compliance requirementsThought leadership in the data and analytics space, with a track record of presenting at industry conferences and events

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experienceAdvance degree or specialization in data technologies is a plus
