About the Role
The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all four Distribution Centers as well as the entire Supply Chain function.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with the CEO on a daily basis to openly discuss and address issues impacting global operations.
Provide necessary buy-in and input for all corporate strategic planning activities.
Revise, formulate, and promote the consistent implementation of operational policies and procedures.
Manage complex relationships and agreements with both internal DC Leaders/team members and external partners/vendors.
Review annual budgets and adjust as needed to ensure operational effectiveness and increase profitability.
Regularly evaluate and improve the efficiency of operational processes and procedures to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Actively assist with continuous improvement initiatives and overall process enhancements.
Support quality management initiatives and provide effective customer support when appropriate.
Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting key operational data and metrics.
Supervise all DC Leaders, providing consistent coaching and constructive feedback.
Ensure that all operations run with legality and conformity to established industry regulations.
Complete tasks that may be assigned by the CEO to support executive goals.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Technical & Operational Expertise
Advanced Lean Six Sigma: A Green or Black Belt certification is highly preferred for roles focusing on "continuous improvement" and "efficiency optimization."
ERP/WMS Implementation: Experience selecting or scaling Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), such as NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle.
S&OP Leadership: Proven ability to lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) cycles to align manufacturing output with financial goals.
Automation & Robotics: Familiarity with implementing automated picking systems or manufacturing robotics to drive multi-site efficiency.
Global Logistics & Customs: Knowledge of international shipping regulations, Incoterms, and managing global freight forwarders, given the "global operation" mention.
Financial & Strategic Management
Advanced P&L Management: Deep experience managing multi-million dollar Profit and Loss statements and identifying "leaks" in operational spend.
Sourcing & Procurement Strategy: Strategic sourcing skills to negotiate high-value vendor contracts and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., dual-sourcing strategies).
Data Visualization: Ability to use tools like Tableau or Power BI to turn raw operational data into actionable dashboards for the CEO.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Change Management: Experience leading teams through cultural shifts, especially when standardizing "operational policies and procedures" across four different sites.
Coaching & Mentorship: A formal background in leadership development to effectively "supervise and coach DC Leaders."
Crisis Management: The ability to maintain a "high sense of urgency" without burning out the team during supply chain disruptions.
