We are building generative AI systems that directly interface with the physical world — a new category of products at the intersection of machine learning, intelligent behavior, and real-time human-computer interaction. As Vice President (VP) of Engineering, you will own the technology strategy and execution needed to take these systems from concept to scale.
This is a senior executive role. You will serve as a key partner to the founding team, overseeing the growth of the engineering organization, setting architectural direction, and ensuring that product velocity and technical quality scale together. You will lead across infrastructure, AI systems, and product engineering while establishing the processes, principles, and people foundation for long-term execution.
This role requires both strategic and technical leadership — someone who can operate comfortably across ICs, researchers, and execs while staying close to the details that matter.
This position is remote.
You’ll make an impact by:Defining and owning the engineering vision, structure, and roadmap Partnering with the lead executive to translate company vision into a scalable architecture and team Building, mentoring, and retaining a team of high-performing engineers and leaders Guiding technical decisions across infrastructure, product engineering, and ML systems Establishing engineering-wide practices for observability, experimentation, security, and quality Driving execution on key company initiatives across multiple product areas Being a champion of technical rigor, culture, and hiring excellence
You will win us over by having the following qualifications:Basic Qualifications15+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years leading multi-team organizations Deep technical background with exposure to distributed systems, ML infrastructure, or real-time platforms Demonstrated success scaling engineering orgs in high-growth or zero-to-one environments Ability to evaluate and guide architectural decisions across software and ML systems Executive-level communication skills and experience collaborating with cross-functional leaders A strong perspective on engineering culture, hiring, and long-term organizational healthPreferred QualificationsPrior experience in AI-native companies, ML product infrastructure, or robotics Built or led engineering teams at early-stage startups through rapid growth Track record of balancing innovation velocity with system sustainability Familiarity with the ML product lifecycle and how to support experimentation at scale

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
