VP of Consumer Print Hardware Portfolio

The VP of Consumer Print Hardware Portfolio will define the home product strategy and portfolio of products required to win in the Consumer Printing market. The HP Consumer Products, Services and Solutions Portfolio represents a strategically significant, multi-billion-dollar business within the company. In this role, the leader will define the next generation of HP Consumer Print hardware, software, and services that create new sources of value generation and value capture for the home printing market. They will develop the next generation of Future Product Marketing leaders that foster a culture for innovation, intellectual curiosity, and thinking beyond the hardware through their deep understanding of consumer market trends, and ability to translate consumer needs to a winning HP Consumer Product Portfolio.

Key Responsibilities: 

Responsible for life cycle management of the products, services and solutions portfolio from development, launch, refresh to obsolescence. 

Accountable for leading an organization by setting overall initiatives, allocating financial and human capital for programs and projects, and ensuring timely and effective delivery.  

Definition and continual refinement of the product roadmap, synthesizing technical, market, consumer care pack, and operational considerations. 

Monitoring market trends, analyzing competitors’ offerings, and soliciting input from clients, partners, sales teams for product planning and design. 

Providing thought-leadership on new product offerings as well as refreshes. 

Responsible for long–term business forecasting and marketing budget recommendations. 

Collaboration with Marketing, Engineering, etc. on briefing materials and training, ensuring key value propositions both internally and externally. 

Leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, procedures, and policies; identifying consequences of decisions on a regional or global level and recommends appropriate solutions and areas for improvement. 

Consulting with business leaders at the EXEC2 and EXEC3 level to drive and influence strategic decision-making within a broad scope (e.g., mitigating risk, approving significant programs/deals). 

Ensuring the marketing strategies and initiatives within area of accountability are integrated with corporate and business strategies. 

May be responsible for significant dotted-line employee reporting relationships.

Superior understanding current product portfolio and ability to define future product roadmaps beyond hardware. 

Defines strategic roadmap the reflect home printing market strategy to advance market share/penetration and achieve profitable growth. 

Sets and manages the business investments and resource allocations essential to ensuring the financial growth of business.   

Develops and exercises a profound understanding of business dynamics within area of control, as a basis for informed business decision making. 

Collaborates effectively with HP BUs and value chain partners to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges, and alignment with business imperatives. Acts decisively once decision is taken. 

Exhibits business and financial acumen to develop meaningful business recommendations.  

Understands the portfolio aspect of HP's products, services and solutions and how the businesses work together. Understand balance sheet drivers of channel partners and balance with HP requirements. 

Acts as an advocate for innovation and change across the organization. 

Approaches problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensure comprehensive understanding and effective resolution. 

Able to lead effectively in a complex and matrixed environment and deliver results while being able to influence without direct authority.  

Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative.

Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels in client organizations, HP, and the industry. 

  

Impact/Scope 

Influences across multiple functional areas to deliver on complex business strategy, anticipating operational needs and decisional impact on business and functional areas. 

Interacts with high-level Individual Contributors, Managers, Directors, and EXEC3s and EXEC2s for internal and external suppliers, partners, and customers. 

  

Complexity 

Manages senior level contributors, directors and/or managers. 

Works across multiple business and cross functional organizations to deliver on the strategy.  

The base pay range for this role is $275K to $350K annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
