This is a newly created position at Gentiva Hospice designed to support regional operations. The Vice President of Clinical Operations will provide leadership for the Frontier Region.

 

The VP Clinical Operations will provide oversight and management of region’s clinical operations and strategically leads analysis, development, implementation, and measurement for the region in line with the company’s strategic goals. Primary accountability is to ensure the delivery of consistent high-quality care that complies with regulatory requirements while focusing on continued performance improvement to ensure survey readiness and success. Serves as key member of the region’s executive management team. 

 

Essential Functions of Position

Direct supervisor for Associate Vice President of Clinical Operations including monitoring and directing all activities and work assignments in collaboration with Regional Leadership.Provides strategic oversight and management:to ensure the region meets all applicable regulatory requirements and enforces the company’s systems, processes, policies and standardsof the region’s quality assessment and performance improvement program in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan/goalsto fulfill region’s objectives in a proactive mannerthrough identification, development and monitoring of clinical quality and process improvement strategiesEstablishes the goals, objectives, standards, and policies/procedures to achieve high-quality care and improved patient outcomes in accordance with the organization’s strategic plan/goalsCoordinates with corporate, and regional leadership on clinical quality and process improvement strategies to create a culture of clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and profitable growthContributes to the definition of performance metrics, budget development, and management of key performance indicatorsAssists with development and implementation of programs that promote clinical quality and survey readiness.Creates a positive service excellence culture within region by setting expectations and accountability through effective clinical leadership.Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned. Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

Adheres to Organization’s Policy and Procedures and consistently promotes the company’s core values Working knowledge of hospice regulatory requirements, state and federal regulations, budget development, and human resourcesAbility to work with confidential informationPossesses effective follow-up and strategic thinking skills Well organized, self-starter with a high degree of initiative, and ability to work independently as well as team buildAbility to communicate clearly with remote field, mid-level, and executive staff; communicates regularly with supervisor about Department issuesExercises professional judgement and demonstrates good problem-resolution skillsExtremely comfortable working with multiple online and computer applicationsMust be a collaborator who possesses effective people skills and maintains a positive and respectful attitudeUnderstand documentation required to support medical necessity of hospice care.Flexible and responsive to changing business needsCompletes required annual trainingMust have good and regular attendanceExtensive travel and frequent overnight travel

Education/Experience:

Registered Nurse with preferably a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree in clinical discipline or related field; Masters preferredMinimum 6-8 years healthcare managerial experienceExperience participating in state surveysExperience with Accreditation process (i.e., JCAHO, ACHC, CHAPS)

License/Certification:

Valid driver’s license and automobile liability insurance coverageUnencumbered and active RN license in state of residence required

Training/Equipment:

Intermediate Excel skillsBasic PowerPoint skillsExperience reviewing data in electronic systemsExperience with HomeCare-HomeBase preferred We Offer
