Provides leadership, vision and oversight of At-Need Cemetery Operations in accordance with Company policy and state and federal regulations by using skills and experience in business management, business development, risk management, quality assurance, human resource development, leadership, and professional development to provide excellent service to every customer.

**Business Management**
+ Customer service – Monitors areas of responsibility to assist in providing a high level of customer service necessary to achieve targeted goals. Leads and supports internal customers to achieve individual, team departmental and company goals.
+ Process Management – Proactively identifies cost savings and revenue enhancement opportunities. Hires, trains, directs and motivates supervisory personnel, subcontractors and staff engaged in day-to-day processes. Recommends and implements changes to guarantee customer satisfaction and change processes and/or policies to improve productivity.
+ Budget – Monitors expenses and capital expenditures for assigned cost centers & capital projects within approved guidelines and provides detailed information for analysis as necessary. Establishes safeguards against fraud, waste, and inefficiency.
+ Policies & procedures – Ensures that written policies and procedures are current for all key business processes, and that staff is well informed and trained in them; ensures that any new policies and procedures comply with the SCI Health & Safety manual. Adheres to safety rules and regulations, and reports unsafe practices to Safety Coordinator.
+ Goods and services – Ensures that the goods and services we offer are aligned with customer needs and support the Company’s strategic initiatives. Facilitates product implementation and change to ensure conservative use of inventory and good stewardship of financial resources.
**Leadership**
+ Participates in senior management meetings and participates in a variety of outside community events and organizations that promote Rose Hills and that are aligned with the Company community relations plan.

+ Provides leadership to all departments in the areas of responsibility by setting the example, providing encouragement and support, and ensuring that the staff is trained at regular intervals.

+ Aligns department goals and activities with the Company goals.
+ Actively participates and contributes in cross-functional dialogue to improve customer service, increase productivity and profitability.

+ Consistently demonstrates a high level of critical thinking when providing solutions to business issues.

+ Establishes and maintains clear written job expectations, procedures, and quality of service guidelines for At-Need Cemetery Operations as necessary.

+ Demonstrates active support for senior management and the Company in meetings, in training, and in one-on-ones.
**Risk Management**
+ Ensures that all office activities are conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the Company and with state and federal regulatory agencies so that no fines or citations are issued for noncompliance.
+ Ensures that regular health & safety meetings are held and documented, and that all staff are fully trained in every health & safety regulation.
**Human Resources Development**
+ Ensures that job applicants are carefully recruited, screened, and hired in accordance with job specifications and Company procedures.
+ Provides regular training, cross-training, skill enhancement, and educational opportunities for all staff; ensures that all these efforts are documented and that records are placed in the Offices’ training files and in the Employee Personnel File in Human Resources.
+ Provides clearly defined career paths for staff positions and ensures all direct reports have current and ongoing development plans.
+ Ensures that departments’ human resource development plans are aligned with the Company business strategy.
+ Works with staff to set periodic attainable goals in each area of their responsibilities; regularly monitors progress to stay on track; and ensures that goals are aligned with Company strategy.
**Professional Development**
+ Works with the Senior Vice President of Operations to set professional development goals and schedules.
+ Ensures that seminars, classes, and other professional development opportunities are aligned with Company strategy; and that they contribute to job satisfaction and personal growth.
**Key Competencies**

**MINIMUM** **Requirements**
**Education**
+ B.S. degree in Business Administration, or equivalent preferred
**Certification/License**
+ Valid CA Driver’s License required
**Experience**
+ 10 years’ experience in mortuary/cemetery operation
+ 5 years in business management in a supervisory capacity
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
+ Project Management Professional (PMP) certification Platform speaking and presenting to groups
+ Lead teams and mentor team members
+ Ability to read and understand complex state and federal regulations Ability to formulate, track, adhere to, and report budgets
+ Advanced proficiency in HMIS Public speaking skills
+ Demonstrated skill in achieving operational goals
+ Knowledge of policy development, EEO, and Cal OSHA regulations Excellent oral and written English communications skills
+ High level of critical thinking and problem-solving Knowledge of Rose Hills Park Rules & Regulations
+ Good interpersonal skills to relate well with people at all levels Ability to train others

**Work CONDITIONS**
**Work Environment**
+ Directs Cemetery Operations indoors and outdoors, and travel throughout the community in all weather conditions.
+ Copes with high demand from internal and external customers with constantly changing priorities and interruptions.
+ Must be able to remain positive, calm, and composed during stressful situations; and always present a professional appearance.
+ Occasionally works outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
+ Occasionally works near moving machinery with loud noise level.
+ Occasionally works near fumes, dust, or airborne particles, mud, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock.
**Work Postures**
+ Frequent, continuous periods of time standing, up 6 hours per day
+ Sitting continuously for many hours per day, up to 6 hours per day
+ Climbs stairs to access buildings frequently
**Physical Demands**
+ Uses hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
+ Occasionally grasps levers and handles and stand, talk, and hear.
+ Occasionally must balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste, and smell.
+ Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 25 pounds.
**Work Hours**
+ Flexible availability - may work beyond “standard” hours as the need arises
+ Occasionally travels both within California, and outside the state. Must be able to drive Company vehicles throughout the community to conduct business and represent the Company in a variety of events and organizations.
**Compensation:**
$130k - $165k per year
