Provides sufficient numbers of trained volunteers to offer supplemental service to hospital departments, resulting in enhanced patient care and improved guest relations

Responds to phone or personal inquiries for volunteer program information; recruits, processes applications and provides position training/follow up of volunteers; plans and facilitates orientation of all new volunteers; assesses volunteer skill sets and assigns volunteers to departments based on skills and need; updates new and existing volunteers on hospital policies/requirements as related to HIPAA, Corporate Compliance, Infection Control and Employee Health; addresses all volunteer questions and concerns; manages annual volunteer evaluation processManages and maintains volunteer database, departmental records and mailing listsWorks with managers to establish volunteer assignments and special projects and fills volunteer vacancies accordingly; represents the volunteer services department on various shared leadership committees throughout the hospitalPlans and implements annual volunteer recognition events; provides daily feedback and recognition to volunteers 

MINIMUM EDUCATION

Required Minimum Education:  High School Diploma

       

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Previous Microsoft Office and database experience; excellent communication and analytical skills; strong organizational skills; self-directed ability

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Prior experience working with volunteers or in positions involving public contact
