VM Packaging Designer - Contract Position

The will by an MAU Contracted position working onsite at the Robert Bosch Charleston Plant.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

You are part of a packaging design team as a part of the physical logistics departmentYou are responsible for developing and developed packing material and packaging concepts used for raw materials as well as finished goods in the supply chain.You design returnable and one-way packaging for the transport and handling of our products, raw material components or support with packaging design for our internal processes.You coordinate and implement optimization projects to achieve cost saving/avoidance by e.g. improving ergonomics and product density for existing packaging concepts.You coordinate packaging concepts implementation with internal and external suppliers (automotive suppliers and supplying Bosch plants) to assure a smooth ramp-up of new projects. You align new packaging development with the internal departments of all related AM-plants related to usage, ergonomics, logistics and technical characteristics of the designed packaging.With prepared packaging concepts you support competitive source of packaging suppliers.You release purchase of required tools for packaging productionYou optimize internal processes to achieve reduction of packaging types to achieve standardization.

Education: 

Bachelor/Master degree: Automotive Engineering, Design, Industrial Design,  or other related degrees.

Experience and Skills:

Familiarity with different types of packaging materialsCommunication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teamsReliable and structured personExperience working with MS-Office tools, IT tools, web-based portalsSAP knowledge can be helpfulAn understanding of the rules in the automotive industry that govern the products is helpfulCreative person with attention to detailsDesign software knowledge and skills (Siemens NX, Solid Works, AutoCAD or similar) is mandatory
