Virtual Dyslexia Specialist (Remote – Texas)

Potential Extension: Ongoing into the 2026–2027 school year based on performance
Certification: Must be CALT (Certified Academic Language Therapist) or trained in Take Flight
Grade Levels: Certified to teach K–12
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Virtual Dyslexia Specialist to provide remote academic language therapy and structured literacy intervention to K–12 students across Texas. The ideal candidate will be CALT-certified or have specialized training and experience delivering the Take Flight curriculum. This role is fully virtual and requires strong independence, professionalism, and mastery of online instructional methods.
Key ResponsibilitiesRemote Instruction & Intervention
+ Deliver Take Flight or comparable structured literacy intervention sessions virtually to individuals or small groups.
+ Implement multisensory, systematic, explicit reading instruction aligned with CALT standards.
+ Provide individualized dyslexia therapy addressing phonological awareness, decoding, spelling, fluency, vocabulary, and written expression.
+ Adapt therapy methods to online learning using digital tools, manipulatives, and structured routines.
Virtual Classroom Management & Engagement
+ Maintain consistent communication, structure, and pacing during virtual sessions.
+ Use interactive platforms, screen-sharing, virtual whiteboards, and digital reading tools to keep students engaged.
+ Monitor student participation, attention, and progress during remote instruction.
Documentation & Compliance
+ Record progress notes, session logs, accommodations, and student data in Texas-approved special education/IEP platforms.
+ Stay proficient with Texas IEP software and maintain all required documentation.
+ Follow all national, state, and federal guidelines for dyslexia services, structured literacy intervention, and special education documentation.
Collaboration & Communication
+ Communicate consistently with families, teachers, and special education team members.
+ Participate in virtual ARD/IEP meetings when needed.
+ Provide recommendations, reports, and progress updates.
Qualifications
+ CALT certification or documented Take Flight training.
+ Valid Texas teaching certification (EC–12 or K–12).
+ Experience providing dyslexia intervention remotely.
+ Strong understanding of dyslexia characteristics and structured literacy methodology.
+ Ability to use remote-learning platforms, online manipulatives, and digital therapy tools effectively.
+ Strong documentation, organization, and communication skills.
Technology Requirements
+ Reliable high-speed internet connection.
+ Quiet, professional home workspace.
+ Webcam-enabled computer capable of running virtual platforms.
+ Familiarity with digital reading tools and virtual engagement strategies.
Contract Details
+ Start Date: March 9, 2026
+ End Date: May 28, 2026
+ Possible renewal into the 2026–2027 school year based on performance.
+ Remote position serving Texas school districts.
