Vice President / Senior Counsel, TTS Trade Legal (Hybrid)

The role is for an attorney based in NAM who will support the Global Trade Supply Chain Finance and Trade/Working Capital Loans businesses. The attorney will advise business units regarding various aspects of the relevant Trade products, including the structuring of trade transactions and related issues. The attorney will also review, draft, and negotiate the documentation associated with those transactions.
Responsibilities include advising business units on a broad range of global trade related transactions, including bilateral and syndicated trade loan facilities, supply chain finance, accounts receivable financing, import/export financing, draft discounting, commodities finance, and other trade related products. Responsibilities also include providing advice regarding Trade product structures and documentation and advising Citi business units, branches, subsidiaries and affiliates located outside the US regarding relevant matters of New York law. The attorney will also work with Citi control functions such as Regulatory, Compliance, Risk, Finance and Tax on issues affecting the Trade business and will work on regional and global projects and initiatives, such as digitization. In addition, the attorney will be responsible for coordinating with Citi internal counsel outside the US on global issues and managing external counsel. The attorney will be expected to be familiar with laws and customary practices applicable to the relevant businesses including the Uniform Commercial Code.
**Qualifications:**
+ 6-10 years of relevant industry experience, preferably in financial services
+ Banking or financial industry experience, including laws related to banking regulations
+ Knowledge of international laws, regulations and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment, internal policies and industry trends that impact the business
+ Experience with global trade related products and transactions, secured lending and transactional experience at a major law firm or financial institution
+ Comprehensive knowledge of relevant laws and practices, including with respect to cross border transactions and the corresponding legal implications
+ Proven analytical and organizational skills and an ability to complete complex documentation within tight time deadlines.
+ Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
+ Experience with complex financing structures including structures involving third party lenders and the use of special purpose entities is preferred.
+ Bar license in good standing to practice law in at least one US state
+ Knowledge of international laws, regulations and practices while staying abreast of regulatory and legal environment, internal policies and industry trends that impact the business

+ Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree

$140,640.00 - $210,960.00
