Vice President, Technology - Global Business Systems

About the Role:

This position leads the Global Business technology organization in developing strategies and delivering internal products/systems aligned to support global market needs. Responsibilities include creating a strong, dynamic technology organization that uses industry best practices and technologies to create internal digital solutions that dramatically streamline and accelerate the achievement of business goals.

Responsibilities:

Leading the overall technical delivery & architecture of the Global Business Technology org., including sales and marketing automation (e.g. Salesforce, Pardot / Marketing Cloud, CPQ/RLM), eCommerce, Order to Cash, Invoicing, Customer self-service, Business Intelligence, Customer Service, and other financial systems.

Partnering with internal product management to lead cross-functional product teams in delivery of internal digital solutions. This includes working closely with individual business unit leaders and the VP for sales harmonization, in making tradeoff decisions that best support the overall global business goals.

Translating business needs into well-architected solutions that best leverage existing and new digital platforms and systems.

Ensuring that solutions accurately reflect and meets the defined expectations of the business while doing so in the most efficient way (improved processes and automation). 

Supporting Product Owners and Development teams in the prioritization of new capabilities and resolution of defects that have the largest positive impact on the business.

Utilizing DevOps best practices including automated testing, CI/CD, decoupled architectures, and monitoring capabilities to dramatically accelerate time to market, while also improving quality, system reliability, availability, and security.

Championing data-driven approaches utilizing metrics to track and improve team and business performance. Metrics should be focused on improving business outcomes through continuous improvement.

Identifying and confirming technical design risks and developing mitigating approaches.

Articulating the benefits and risks around technical feasibility and functionality.

Providing level-of-effort estimates for proposed solutions following agile principles.

Demonstrating thought leadership through innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.

Leading 3rd-party developers where appropriate ensuring internal staff retain critical knowledge.

Recruiting, retaining, and developing world-class talent.

Developing strong leadership skills for internal technical leads and managers.

Supporting organization change management activities as part of deploying digital solutions.

Supporting and actively championing using generative AI to improve / transform both internal and external delivery.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience working on 3rd-party tools for CRM (Salesforce), marketing automation, Order-to-Cash systems (Oracle Fusion), Customer Service solutions, eCommerce tools, and public cloud customized solutions (AWS). 

Demonstrated success leading complex, global implementations of Salesforce and associated tools, including migrations from legacy systems (Siebel, Peoplesoft and others).

Industrywide or broad companywide technical knowledge.

Experience with leading global development teams across multiple time zones.

Ability to define the system architecture and identify gaps between current and desired end-states.

Proven ability to design and optimize business processes and define solutions that support digital transformation.

Experience in designing and developing software components and solutions utilizing Agile and DevOps best practices. 

Knowledge of the best options and how to handle security and regulatory environments working closely with our CISO.

Experience using data and data insights to drive operational changes and the provision of insights to business owners.

Creative problem solving and analysis skills with an ability to identify develop and implement solutions to gaps to meet the needs of the business.

Experience with Release Management, Source Control, and Deployment concepts and technologies such as ANT, GIT, SFDC Metadata API, Jenkins, SVN, ADO, Capado.

Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills. This role will be required to present to senior executives including the Global CEO.

Excellent client-facing written and oral communications skills.

Strong communication, time-management, and multi-tasking skills.

Qualifications: 

15+ years of technology experience with CRM, Marketing automation, Order-to-Cash, Business Intelligence, customer service, and other financial systems

8+ years of management experience in a large, matrix organization

BS Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience required; advanced degree preferred
