The SOX Governance and Advisory team within Controllership (1LOD) plays a critical role in supporting the enterprise by developing and executing a risk-based plan to assess and enhance the company’s internal controls over financial reporting. The team utilizes a robust governance framework and testing program to manage financial reporting risk in compliance with the company’s 2LOD objectives and requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act.

 

The team is looking for a Vice President of SOX Assessment, Advisory and Testing to lead a group of risk professionals who are responsible to ensure effective internal control over financial reporting across all in-scope legal entities and business processes.

 

The VP, SOX Assessment, Advisory and Testing will:

Ensure end-to-end program planning, execution, governance and annual scoping for SOX testing and deficiency evaluation Own the SOX control framework for process, application and IT general controls (ITGCs) across the enterprise Perform ongoing risk assessment activities to incorporate changes in the business processes and technology landscape, and evaluate and implement control improvements as needed Manage testing strategies for control design and operating effectiveness, including reliance models with internal and external auditors Monitor control deficiencies, root cause analysis and track remediation plans for significant issues Prepare and deliver timely and effective reports including SOX program status, trends, evaluation, and remediation of deficiencies to senior leadership and risk committees of the Company Collaborate with the enterprise control management functions to align on and implement SOX control expectations across business processes Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate SOX audits and ensure timely completion and resolution of issues Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability and strong financial reporting risk awareness across the enterprise

 

Required Qualifications:

15+ years of experience in SOX compliance, internal audit or financial risk management, preferably within the financial services industry In depth knowledge of SOX 302 and 404 requirements, COSO framework, PCAOB and AICPA standards and expectations with respect to testing and deficiency evaluation Familiarity with various control testing methodologies, such as walkthroughs, sampling etc. to verify the effectiveness of controls Experience with ITGC’s, IT applications controls (ITAC’s) and emerging technologies (cloud, AI) Skills in assessing control deficiencies, including root cause analysis and aggregation, and the ability to implement sustainable remediation plans Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior BU counterparts Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed, global organization Demonstrated history and ability to manage large teams, spread over geographies and with varying backgrounds

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, Computer and Information Science, Business, or a related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification required; other risk or audit certifications a plus

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
