The Vice President, Political Engagement and Reputation Strategy is responsible for leading Pfizer’s Policy Communications, Political Action Committee, Colleague Grassroots, Political Engagement and Reputation Strategy. The VP will manage a team of colleagues responsible for these functions in addition to leading overall political strategy and reputation management for USPGR.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Vice President, Political Engagement and Reputation Strategy is responsible for leading’s USPGR’s political engagement and reputation strategy.This role is also responsible for building partnerships with political parties, forums, key networks, and other strategic partnerships.This role will direct polling/public opinion research, policy messaging, and thought leadership aligned with Pfizer’s priorities.This role will oversee Pfizer’s Political Action Committee team and is responsible for driving colleague policy education and engagement.This role will require close coordination with USPGR leadership, Corporate Communications and other key functions across the Pfizer enterprise.This role will manage a budget responsible to support overall engagement and reputation strategy.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 15 years’ experience combined in public policy or government relations / legal affairs/ communications or media relations highly preferred.Strong experience working with federal government and/or in political campaignsMinimum 10 years of team leadership experience.Experience in pharmaceutical / heath care industry knowledge.Outstanding oral and written communications skills.Established track record of coalition building in complex environments.Proven experience in implementing strategic and tactical plans.Hands-on crisis and reputation management experience.Strategic thinker, able to tackle complex issues and develop innovative solutions that result in winning partnerships.Well organized, highly motivated, innovative and process driven with regards to problem solving and results oriented.Must be able to work 1) under pressure, 2) both independently and in a team environment, and 3) with all levels of the organization as well as outside stakeholdersTravel necessary (domestic):30%Education: Bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree strongly preferred.Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
