Vice President, Planning & Administration, Wealth Management Solutions
Reporting into the EVP, Head of Wealth Management Solutions, the Vice President, Planning & Administration is responsible for directly supporting the Executive Vice President (EVP) Wealth Management Solutions to ensure effective management of all accountabilities that support the executive office, with a strong focus on organizational, communication and project management. This includes communications, setting business agendas, regular interaction with the Executive's direct reports, managing the office, ensuring all deliverables are met, and taking on special assignments. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the effective and efficient operations for WMS, as well as assist in identifying, and advancing key strategic business strategies, while serving as a key liaison on behalf of the Senior Executive with corporate colleagues, employees, and the CEO's office.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the EVP Wealth Management Solutions, senior leadership team and other key partners to set strategy and manage business accountabilities that impact key metrics and results.Responsible for ensuring inter-departmental cooperation and communication with key business partners and units supporting the department. Build a culture of success and help support the value proposition of the function.Escalate concerns and risks when identified and leads the resolution process.Provide thought leadership and initiate activities to maximize organizational effectiveness, including goal tracking, organizational effectiveness, involvement in the enterprise long-range plan, orchestration of the Executive and department calendar, expense management, and other initiatives as assigned.Periodically lead large-scale program/project initiatives to completion and implementation. Drive clarity across functional groups in a complex and ambiguous environment. Quickly identify, resolve/mitigate and escalate issues or risks associated with projects or deliverables.Lead the development and implementation of specific key processes and programs that are integral in the function, including goal tracking, involvement in the enterprise long-range plan, and the overall business calendar and other initiatives as assigned. Provide thought leadership and initiate activities to maximize organizational effectiveness.Take ownership to ensure strong materials and agendas for a variety of meetings such as regular business line reviews, Leadership Team meetings, Town Halls, Huddles, extended leadership team meetings, etc. Ensure arrangements are in place such as coordinate scheduling of facilities and audio/visual needs. Ensure engagement of many audiences and geographies to ensure a strong experience for attendees.Prepare presentations and communications for the EVP as needed, which may include presentations to the Board of Directors, analyst groups and regulatory agencies. In the absence of the EVP manage interactions with the Executive Leadership Team, senior leadership, key business partners, field/corporate office leaders, employees, advisors, and external clients.Accountable for assisting in general business management activities including annual business unit planning, budget/expense management and monitoring of progress against operational, financial and strategic objectives and goals. Support key business decisions with perspective on future financial, experience, employee and risk implications. Ensure appropriate reporting construct to drive decisioning and timely problem resolution.Partner with other areas across the enterprise including corporate support groups, such as Finance, Technology, Human Resources, Legal/Compliance, Risk and Corporate Communications, to ensure ongoing connection and strong delivery.  Drive organization's effectiveness and employee satisfaction.Provide leadership to small team and/or contractors, informal leadership of support partners and cross-functional project participants that includes work direction, coaching and feedback, employee development and performance management. Ensure that team is meeting project timelines and commitments.Provide day to day leadership of teams in place for strategic and complex change initiatives. 


Required Qualifications:

10+ years of related experience including combined financial, operational, project/program management experience and demonstrated leadership.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale program/project initiatives to completion and implementation. Ability to quickly identify, resolve/mitigate and escalate issues or risks associated with projects or deliverables.Strong cross functional planning skills.Strong relationship building skills - including highly effective communication skills with the ability to identify and resolve/mitigate issues or risks.Experience influencing at all levels of an organization with proven ability to execute deliverables and drive results.Demonstrated ability to navigate Ameriprise or with other large, complex organizations.Proven ability to work under pressure with undefined processes, tight deadlines and frequently changing priorities.Exceptional at developing communications with strong ability to synthesize information and write for understanding at all levels of the organization.


Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience within Wealth Management; preferably within a Broker/Dealer. A strong orientation to operational risk, lean methodology and/or process engineering principles as well as a strong financial aptitude and demonstrated experience leading large scale project initiatives. Additionally, this person will also be self-directed; with the ability to work both independently with little direction or oversight and in a collaborative environment, with an executive presence. Additionally, must have the ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and time-sensitive deadlines.  Understanding of financial products, pricing methodologies preferred

Base Pay Salary

The estimated salary range for this role is $168,000-$230,000. Base salaries are determined, in part, based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that support all aspects of your health and well-being.
