Summary

Responsible for the overall Pharmacy strategy within the Health Plan and in collaboration with the Health Care Delivery System.

Implement new or updated programs or portions of large scale pharmaceutical initiatives. Project impact costs, quality, efficiencies and achievement of objectives across departments.

Apply advanced technical and pharmaceutical knowledge to solve complex problems which may impact service lines or corporate service sub-functions across the enterprise.

Job Description

Responsible for all aspects of pharmacy services, including strategic planning, program growth and development, formulary management, finance and budgeting, purchasing, marketing, organizing and managing quality and cost-effective service delivery to ensure consistency with customer expectations. Responsible for pharmacy operations, including the delivery of product, clinical pharmacy programs, formulary management, budgeting, purchasing, staffing, recruitment and retention of staff, payer contracting, financial performance and reports, and regulatory compliance. Must maintain a good understanding of system strategies and knowledge of the marketplace, and incorporate these concepts into an overall medication and pharmacy services plan. Work closely with both Plan and system/enterprise partners in pharmacy, contracting, quality, regulatory, accreditation, government programs, and care delivery (etc.) to decision, plan, and implement cohesive strategies. Function as a leader in the Health Plan's clinical vertical, collaborating and leading clinical strategy intersecting with pharmacy.

Qualifications

Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or an advanced degree in a related field required.

Minimum of five years of pharmacy management experience required. Experience in budget management, pro-forma development and financial monitoring at a multi-site, multi-discipline operation preferred.

Must maintain any certification or licensure in state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges. American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) approved residency and membership in a professional healthcare management organization, such as American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) preferred.
