Vice President, HR Service – Small Business Accounts (PEO)

ADP is hiring a Vice President, HR Service – Small Business Accounts in the HRO Professional Employer Organization (PEO).

 

As the Vice President, HR Service – Small Business Accounts, this role is a pivotal and critical component of the overall ADP Service business. In partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, this leader will drive the strategic agenda, maximize the effectiveness of the organization, and realize transformational goals.

In this role as the Vice President, you will be responsible and accountable for developing and leading the implementation of strategic priorities and plans for our small business accounts that drive operational efficiency, improve associate engagement, and ultimately improve client satisfaction and financial performance. You will be responsible for providing leadership and planning expertise in measuring the overall effectiveness of the transformation programs.

 

This senior leader will also establish and report on key business metrics and ensure a consistent and comprehensive approach across the business to associates, sales, and relationship management. Reports on and monitors NPS trends, leading to the creation of key client retention strategies. Provides leadership and guidance for change management and governance.

 

You will report directly to the VP/GM within the HRO PEO organization with 4 directs and ~18 indirects, all US based.

WHAT YOU’LL DO: Responsibilities 

Drive the identification of strategic initiatives and projects, in partnership with the senior leadership team to manage the execution of the initiatives. Serve as the primary liaison with Product Management and Business Transformation, to ensure alignment and high-quality deployment of strategic initiatives. Drive the agenda for Strategic Initiatives including facilitating portfolio management, providing information for project selection and prioritization, highlighting critical information to assess risk, and enabling project selection for business alignment and benefits realization. Provide oversight of NPS metrics/trends leading to the creation and implementation of key client retention strategies. Provide consolidated information and transparency with relevant reports that help in tracking and managing project, program, and portfolio performance. Identify linkages and dependencies and detect systemic disconnects and bottlenecks, resolve communications and interface issues across organizational silos, and develop and manage relationships with key stakeholders. Build a culture of organizational change management and governance ownership within the organization. Ensure organizational development and readiness through a partnership with Enablement, Payroll Service and Implementation. Provide consultation and alignment with division and corporate projects and initiative management thought leadership. Build needed core HCM competencies (knowledge, skill, and culture) in the organization. Translate the broader TotalSource service strategy into clear, actionable objectives for teams. Set departmental goals and ensure team alignment with market vision and strategic priorities. Demonstrate the ability to create an enthusiastic vision that inspires others to collectively deliver exceptional results. Partner with the VP/GM and Finance Executive to develop and manage annual budgets, headcount plans, and productivity goals. Ensure effective cost control and resource allocation in support of strategic service goals. Create an environment focused on performance, development, and retention. Manage recruitment, selection, compensation, and performance management for HR Service staff. Coach and develop leaders to improve current performance and build bench strength for the future. Oversee training initiatives to ensure team readiness and alignment with service strategy.

 

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Requirements

This is a hybrid role (3 days in the office minimum). Candidates will sit in our Norfolk, VA, Tempe, AZ, Alpharetta, GA or Salem, NH office and should have a proven track record of managing teams in a virtual and in-office setting. 15+ years of experience in a related management capacity in a high-performance service environment that has consistently demonstrated World Class Service comparable to ADP's mission with significant measurable results.  Working knowledge of industry-leading practices in the disciplines of Human Capital Management. (Payroll, Human Resources, Time, Benefits, Recruiting, and Talent Management). Management experience in a matrixed environment, and oversight of a highly professional organization. Proven ability to assess performance, mentor, and counsel associates is essential. Strong leadership (Leader of Leaders) and people management skills are required. Must be able to work under pressure of time constraints and be able to function in a flexible, fast-paced constantly changing environment. Effective time management and conflict resolution skills are required. Ability to motivate and lead others; highly collaborative planning ability; superior business acumen, communication, and business judgment. Proven success in developing and executing strategic service strategies. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders. Strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations, synthesize data, and drive changes to deliver results. Working knowledge of WFN payroll systems and related tools. Field experience required. Willingness to travel as required.

A college degree is great but not required. What's more important is having the skills to do the job. Other acceptable experiences could include:

MBA or Advanced Degree. Experience with LEAN/Six Sigma methodologies. Background in payroll, implementation, and/or contact center operations.
