The VP, Global Compensation is a high-impact executive position, responsible for leading Otis's global broad-based compensation function. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading Otis’ global compensation strategies to ensure Otis is leading the competition in terms of our ability to attract, hire, retain, and incentivize top talent while aligning with the company’s business objectives and culture. Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President, Total Rewards, this person will lead with a focus on efficient, technology-driven compensation practices while balancing global applicability with local and regional flexibility, colleague experience, and needs of the business.

We can be flexible on location in the US (EST highly desirable), and can accommodate remote, hybrid or on-site work arrangements, depending on location and preferences.

Key Accountabilities: 

Develop and execute a comprehensive and forward-thinking global compensation strategy that aligns with Otis’s strategic goals and supports a high-performance culture.Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of compensation programs, including salary structures and incentive plans.Ensure compensation practices are competitive and compliant with global regulations and industry standards.Collaborate with HR and business leaders to ensure compensation programs support talent management initiatives and business objectives.Monitor, assess & adjust programs by leveraging marketing analysis, data analytics, trends, and the impact of strategic and core initiatives to ensure Otis’s compensation offerings remain competitive.Ensure alignment with company performance and shareholder interests, preparing compensation guidance and proposals to Executive, HR & Finance leadership as needed.Coach, mentor, unite and shape a global team, with a commitment to foster a diverse, equitable, inclusive, and continuous improvement workplace culture.Partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities to leverage tools, technology, and processes to improve compensation business processes, operational execution, and efficiency.Ensure effective communication of compensation programs, processes, and practices to enhance colleague understanding and drive effectiveness.Develop and maintain governance frameworks to manage compensation risk and ensure transparency.

Experience & Qualifications: 

Proven track record in a global compensation senior leadership role, designing and implementing successful compensation strategies, (sales) incentive program design, and managing compliance & administration.A successful background in a large, multi-national and highly matrixed organization, working across diverse international markets.Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP or GRP) preferred.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.Leadership presence and the ability to communicate sensitive strategic information to Executives and key stakeholders.Exceptional collaboration and project management skills, combined with the ability to excel in a global, multicultural environment.Demonstrated success leading transformations, driving, and influencing change.Strategic mindset together with the willingness to be more tactical and operational; driving continuous improvement and providing hands-on expertise.Empathetic, inclusive leader with a desire to empower others and develop a high-performing team.Embody Otis’s Absolutes (Safety, Ethics, Quality) and leadership behaviors, serving as a role model for the organization.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this role is USD $290k - $330k. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may change in the future. Pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.

This position is eligible to participate in our annual executive short-term Incentive plan and is eligible to receive equity awards under the Otis executive long-term incentive plan.
