Position Summary

We are seeking a dynamic, visionary leader to serve as Vice President and Worldwide Disease Area Head (DAH) for our Pan-Tumor Oncology portfolio (excluding Thoracic and Head & Neck). This executive role is accountable for the global, U.S., and international medical strategy and execution across both early and late-stage assets. The DAH will drive scientific excellence, shape medical strategy from early development through commercialization, and deliver transformative therapies to patients worldwide. This is a mission-critical role that partners across Discovery, Development, Commercial, and Market Access to maximize the value and impact of our oncology portfolio.

The Pan-Tumor portfolio represents a multi-billion-dollar opportunity and includes several high-priority late-stage and early-pipeline assets spanning multiple indications and regions.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

Develop and execute the Global medical strategy for the pan-tumor portfolio, aligning with BMS’ goals and patients’ needsAnticipate and respond to dynamic market landscapes, including scientific, regulatory, and competitive challenges, ensuring a leadership position in the global oncology marketPartner with R&D, Commercial, and Market Access to shape pipeline and portfolio strategies that maximize value and deliver life-changing therapies to patients.Scientific Due Diligence in Mergers and Acquisitions through asset evaluation, risk assessment and treatment landscape analysis

Portfolio Impact and Innovation:

Identify unmet needs, market trends, and opportunities for new product development or acquisitions in oncology.Oversee BMS strategic engagement, partnerships and collaboration as well as co-development opportunities for the solid tumor portfolio with the exception of thoracic oncologyOversee differentiation strategies and signal-seeking initiatives to expand the pipeline and identify transformative therapeutic opportunities.Shape early development strategy and contribute to trial designs and recruitment.Ensure appropriate access for patients across US and international markets.Shape long-term strategy by expanding the lifecycle of a product, identifying new indications or patient populations; contribute to future portfolio planning ensuring business development efforts align with future healthcare trends and unmet needsLead data dissemination, scientific exchange, and education to shape practice and policy

Team Accountability:

Oversee the Medical Product Leads (MPL) and AIMs (Asset Integrated Medical Teams) to ensure strategy is co-created with the markets and that asset strategies reflect the needs of our countries while driving top market performance and support.Serve as the key medical representative on the Development, Commercial and Market access Leadership team for the relevant tumors-providing strategic leadership and scientific expertise.Oversees the integrated evidence teams (IET) and plans (IEP)

Medical Evidence Generation:

Ensure evidence generation efforts support regulatory submissions, reimbursement decisions, and market access strategy.Accountable for the integrated evidence plans and prioritize studies to address key stakeholders' needs, including patients, healthcare providers, and payors.Oversee the design and implementation of interventional trials and real-world evidence (RWE) studies, including early signal-seeking studies, investigator-sponsored research (ISR), medical affairs-led studies, post-market studies, registries, and observational research.

Operational Excellence and Outcomes:

Inspiring and lead a high-performing, inclusive, and diverse global team of medical and scientific professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and empowerment to achieve exceptional results.Deliver organizational efficiency and agility by implementing streamlined processes that enable seamless execution and high impact launches in US, Global and International markets.Leverage advanced digital capabilities and data-driven tools to optimize decision-making, enhance stakeholder engagement, and provide actionable insights that shape medical and business strategies.Establish and maintain robust systems to ensure a relentless focus on measurable outcomes across all medical activities, tracking and evaluating performance metrics to drive sustained impact, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

External Leadership and Influence:

Serve as the global medical face of the organization in relevant tumors within oncology, representing the company with key external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, academic and community institutions, medical organizations, population decision-makers, and patient advocacy groups.Lead efforts to strengthen the company’s reputation as the partner of choice in the oncology space by advancing our commitment to patient-centric care and science-driven solutions.Establish strategic partnerships to accelerate access, innovation, and scientific collaboration globally.

Qualifications & Experience:
Education:

Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) with clinical experience in oncology preferred.

Experience:

7+ years of leadership experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or academia with a strong track record in oncology and global medical affairs.Mandatory large market launch experienceDeep experience in solid tumor launchesExperience in leading large medical affairs, commercial or development teamsDemonstrated expertise in building and executing global medical and portfolio strategies for marketed and pipeline assets.Proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse, and geographically distributed teams.Business development experience preferredExceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility with senior leadership, external partners, and the global scientific community.

The starting compensation for this job is a range from $326,660K USD - $395,900K USD, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).

The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.

Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

Compensation Overview:

$326,660 - $395,829
