The Opportunity:

The Demopolis Solid Bleached Sulfate (SBS) Paperboard mill operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week to meet quality production standards.  The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of duties, in such a manner that maintains safe working conditions, maximum production, world class maintenance procedures, quality standards, preservation of equipment capacity, and investment capital.  

Mechanical Tasks:

Understanding of and experience with reading drawings, Bills of Materials, parts identification, planning and schedulingDetermine work procedures to assemble, dismantle and overhaul machinery and equipmentWork with a wide variety of precision toolsPerform a variety of maintenance related tasks in connection with the maintenance, repair and/or improvement to equipmentAble to troubleshoot, PM, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systemsLaser-align equipment, rebuild pumps, change machine bearings, operate cutting torch, weld plate and pipe, safely troubleshoot and repair hydraulic components, etcExpertise with common paper mill equipment/components such as: conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, compressors, rolls bearings, seals, chains, sprockets, couplings, cylinders, valves, etcOperate equipment such as hoists, cranes, fork-lifts, welding machines, burning rigs, etc.

Vibration Technician Requirements and Task 

Vibration Cat II (ISO certified)Collect and Analyze Vibration Data on 30-day intervals in paper mill environments which includes:Climbing areas such as lime kiln elevators, reclaimer stack out conveyorsHot work locations such as paper machine dryer section      Work as a team player of the mechanical reliability department contributing to the mill’s uptime through preventative and predictive maintenance task completions

What you need to succeed:

Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalency diploma5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (preferred)Demonstrated the drive to achieve and have upward movement in various jobsSelf-motivated desire to learnCapable of meeting physical requirements to include working weekends/holidays, around heat, noise, work inside/outside, etc.Has the mechanical, mathematical, and verbal aptitude to learn positionsProven record of performanceBe able to work well with others, understanding all rules and regulations that are associated with this facilityAble to complete and submit an employment application onlineAble to operate in heavy manufacturing site and work variable schedule and overtime as needed.
