VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital is seeking a Certified Veterinary Technician to join our hybrid General Practice and Urgent Care/ER team. Location: VCA Southeast Portland Animal Hospital – Portland, OR


Shift: Full Time, Flexible Scheduling – we are open Sunday-Saturday 7am-7pm


Compensation: $ 28 – $ 34 / hr

What We’re Looking For

Certified (or eligible) Veterinary Technician in OregonExperience with or strong knowledge of anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recoverySkills in small animal nursing, triage, diagnostics, and post-op careEffective communicator and team playerAdaptable and eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative setting

What You’ll Do

As a key member of our hospital team, you’ll work alongside general practice and emergency doctors to support patient care from routine visits to urgent medical needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

Performing triage assessments and prioritizing cases

Providing high-quality nursing care and client education

Placing IV catheters and running diagnostics

Taking radiographs and assisting in exams

Assisting with surgical procedures and monitoring anesthesia

Inducing, monitoring, and recovering anesthesia

Managing patient documentation and treatment plans

Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment

Collaborating effectively with doctors, fellow technicians, and support staff

Supporting students, interns, and new team members

Performing other duties as assigned to support hospital operations
