Join a Leader in Veterinary OphthalmologyVeterinary Vision Animal Eye Specialists is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Ophthalmologist to join our exceptional team in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area. Our San Carlos location is moving to a brand-new building in April 2026! With over three decades of trusted specialty care, we’ve built a reputation for excellence in medical and surgical ophthalmology for companion animals.Veterinary Vision has proudly served Northern California since 1991, offering advanced medical and surgical ophthalmic care for pets from across the region. With locations in San Carlos and San Francisco, our team includes three board-certified ophthalmologists and a highly trained support staff. We are equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostics and a dedicated ophthalmic surgical suite.Our culture is collaborative, patient-focused, and built on long-standing relationships with primary care veterinarians and pet families. Our new building will be located adjacent to SAGE Redwood City, an Ethos multi-specialty hospital and will give access to all of the services including anesthesia, advanced imaging, neurology, and more!What You’ll DoProvide comprehensive ophthalmic exams and diagnostics using advanced tools (e.g., slit-lamp biomicroscopy, tonometry, indirect ophthalmoscopy, ultrasound).Develop and implement treatment plans for a wide range of ocular conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, corneal disease, and eyelid disorders.Perform surgical procedures such as cataract extraction, eyelid reconstruction, and enucleation, among others.Consult and communicate clearly with pet owners and referring veterinarians.Participate in case discussions and foster a collaborative approach to care.Optionally contribute to training, mentorship, and CE for local DVMs and residents.What We’re Looking ForDVM or equivalent from an accredited veterinary schoolCompleted (or nearing completion of) an ACVO-approved residency programDiplomate status or board-eligibility with the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (ACVO)Valid license (or eligibility) to practice in CaliforniaStrong communication, surgical, and interpersonal skillsA commitment to compassionate, high-quality careWhy Veterinary Vision?Clinical Excellence: Join a team of established ACVO diplomates and experienced support staff in a specialty-focused practice.Work-Life Balance: Flexible scheduling with no overnight shifts.Advanced Facilities: Access to top-tier ophthalmic diagnostics and surgical instrumentation.Professional Growth: CE allowance, mentoring opportunities, and support from a nationwide specialty network.Competitive Compensation: Attractive salary between $220,000 - $250,000 based on experience and qualifications, production incentives, and comprehensive benefits, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, and more.Ready to See Your Future More Clearly? If you’re passionate about veterinary ophthalmology and looking to practice at the highest level alongside a collaborative and experienced team, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today by submitting your CV and cover letter to Tauri VerHow at tauri.verhow@ethosvet.com
