Veterinary & Inventory Assistant

Location: Calgary, AB

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Veterinary & Inventory Assistant to join our team. This hybrid role supports both our inventory department and clinical services, helping ensure smooth hospital operations and high-quality patient care.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated and empathetic individual to join us in a very specialized support role for the entire Specialty and ER hospital. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working around animals in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alone or with a variety of team members.

This is a Part-Time to Full-Time role, with the flexibility to adjust schedule accordingly.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Support:

Assist with the daily restocking of hospital supplies.

Receive and input orders from multiple veterinary vendors.

Put away orders in designated storage areas following inventory protocols.

Assist the Inventory Manager in sourcing and locating products for various services.

Help monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.

Facilitate charging of employees and appropriate price changes.

Provide additional support and coverage for sick and vacation leave.

Assist the Inventory Manager with special event planning and organizing.

Veterinary & Animal Care Support:

Assist various departments with basic animal husbandry, including:

Feeding animals

Walking animals as needed

Cleaning cages, runs, and kennels

Maintaining the hygiene and sanitation of animal areas

Provide restraint and support during medical procedures under the guidance of veterinary staff.

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a veterinary, animal care, or inventory-related role is a plus but not required.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Comfort and confidence working around animals of various sizes and temperaments.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks.

Reliable, team-oriented, and proactive communicator.

Ability to manage own time effectively

Own transportation is preferred but not mandatory
