**Veterinary & Inventory Assistant**
**Location: Calgary, AB**
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented **Veterinary & Inventory Assistant** to join our team. This hybrid role supports both our **inventory department** and **clinical services** , helping ensure smooth hospital operations and high-quality patient care.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an organized, motivated and empathetic individual to join us in a very specialized support role for the entire Specialty and ER hospital. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and comfortable working around animals in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work alone or with a variety of team members.
This is a Part-Time to Full-Time role, with the flexibility to adjust schedule accordingly.
**Key Responsibilities:**
**Inventory Support:**
+ Assist with the daily restocking of hospital supplies.
+ Receive and input orders from multiple veterinary vendors.
+ Put away orders in designated storage areas following inventory protocols.
+ Assist the Inventory Manager in sourcing and locating products for various services.
+ Help monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
+ Facilitate charging of employees and appropriate price changes.
+ Provide additional support and coverage for sick and vacation leave.
+ Assist the Inventory Manager with special event planning and organizing.
**Veterinary & Animal Care Support:**
+ Assist various departments with basic animal husbandry, including:
+ Feeding animals
+ Walking animals as needed
+ Cleaning cages, runs, and kennels
+ Maintaining the hygiene and sanitation of animal areas
+ Provide restraint and support during medical procedures under the guidance of veterinary staff.
**Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience in a veterinary, animal care, or inventory-related role is a plus but not required.
+ Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
+ Comfort and confidence working around animals of various sizes and temperaments.
+ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks.
+ Reliable, team-oriented, and proactive communicator.
+ Ability to manage own time effectively
+ Own transportation is preferred but not mandatory
