Veterinary Externship – New Melle Animal Hospital

At New Melle, you’ll work side-by-side with an experienced veterinarian and skilled support team to sharpen your skills in patient history, physical exams, treatment planning, diagnostics, dentistry, surgery, and medical case management.
You’ll train on digital x-ray, ultrasound, and dental radiology while also building strong communication skills with clients and colleagues.

Most externship experiences range from two to eight weeks depending on student and hospital schedules. Externships at New Melle Animal Hospital are offered to students in their final clinical year of veterinary school.   Veterinary students who are in the clinical portion of their education are eligible for a travel/living expense stipend.
