Veterinary Assistant Pre-Op

Location:  7712 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers, IN 46038

VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center is growing and is looking to welcome a full-time Veterinary Assistant to our Pre-Operative team.

Compensation: Starting range is determined by skill set and years of experience in the field. 

Schedule: Full-time, 4 x 10 hr shifts (Tuesday through Friday 7a-5p)

Responsibilities: 

At VCA Advanced Veterinary Care Center, we provide a collaborative environment where veterinary professionals can thrive. You will work closely with our Specialists, Registered Technicians, and Veterinary Assistants to deliver high-quality patient care.

Patient restraint & handlingPre-anesthetic preparation: clipping and scrubbing surgical sites, ensuring cleanliness and correct anatomical marginsLaboratory sample handlingUnderstand sterile technique and surgical suite flow for surgery, neurology, and ophthalmology departmentsMaintaining aseptic and sterile conditions in ORs and the sterile hallwayMaintain aseptic conditions in prep and holding areasProper disinfection of tables, instruments, and kennelsBiohazard and sharps disposal complianceStrong teamwork and communication with technicians and DVMsPlus more!

Requirements:

Knowledge of common surgical and ophthalmic instruments—cleanliness, maintenance, and sterilization processTime management: prepping multiple patients efficiently while maintaining safety and cleanlinessCompassion and patience with anxious petsCalmness under pressure and adaptability in a fast-paced settingReceptive to feedback and able to follow detailed instructions precisely
