VCA Ragland & Riley Animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our hospital!
Schedule: Full-time opportunity with rotating Saturdays, 4 x 10 hours

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
Answering phones and scheduling appointments.Assist veterinarians and technicians during patient exams and treatments.Handle and restrain animals safely and appropriately.Obtain patient histories and update medical records.Educate clients on general pet care, vaccines, and preventative medicine.Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment.Support with laboratory sample collection, x-rays, and other diagnostic testing.Assist in handling prescription medications and refills per veterinary instructions.Provide compassionate and professional client communication.QUALIFICATIONS At least 1 year of experience in a veterinary clinical setting (general practice, ER, or specialty) preferred.Strong communication skills with the ability to educate and guide clients.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
