O'Sullivan Animal Hospital, located in Barrie, ON., is currently welcoming a dependable and caring Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist to join our team! This dual role is a flexible opportunity for an organized, motivated, and empathetic individual to join us in a very important support role for the entire hospital.  

Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments 

Create a warm and welcoming environment for our patient and pet parents 

Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our clients and patients 

General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas 

Compassion and a nurturing attitude 

Willingness to learn more regarding; pet nutrition, veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments 

Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and adapt to changing situations 

Take initiative and work independently 

Excellent customer service skills; a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment 

Ability to answer a multiline phone system and track and book appointments effectively 

Placing outbound calls to pet parents for follow-up and future appointment bookings

Respond to and manage email correspondence; clients, referring veterinarians & internal office messages

Scheduling appointments

Admitting and discharging pet patients
