**Veterinary Assistant** **Location: Strathmore, AB** A Veterinary Assistant's role is to assist the veterinarians in the care of animals. The person in this role has completed a Veterinary Assistant program from a recognized college. While in this role, they will work together with the team to ensure high-quality client and patient care is consistently delivered, and play a critical role in ensuring the Veterinarian remains on schedule and has clear communication with the team. **Education or Experience:** Completion and achievement of a Veterinary Technical Assistant Certificate **Schedule:** Hours required are from 7:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. (Monday to Friday) and 8:30 A.M to 3:30 P.M. (Saturday), but may require overtime due to the emergency nature of veterinary care + Assist veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments + Create a warm and welcoming environment for our pet parents + Create a positive, low-stress atmosphere for our patients and adapt to changing situations + General housekeeping duties; cleanliness of reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas + Willingness to learn more regarding; veterinary services, updated medical office procedures and assisting the Veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments + Compassion and nurturing attitude + Take initiative and work independently **Working Conditions:** Primarily to perform tasks in the treatment area of clinic, although may be required to work in all aspects of the clinic (including outside the clinic premises in remote locations in all types of weather) **Accountability:** + VA’s reports to the Team Lead, RVT and General Manager + VA’s support to the Tech.
