Role's Overview:
Under the general supervision of the Branch Manager, the Venture Services Associate plays a key role in supporting stock distribution and trading activities within the venture capital community. This includes managing distributions for General and Limited Partners and executing trade and operational functions related to venture transactions. As a member of the Venture Services Team, the Associate also contributes to broader operational responsibilities across the branch office complex.
Job Responsibilities:
Stock Distribution & Trading Support
+ Collaborate closely with venture capital firms to manage stock distributions for General and Limited Partners.
+ Execute ongoing sales of distributed shares while ensuring accuracy and adherence to trading restrictions—precision is critical, as errors in stock handling are unacceptable.
+ Coordinate with Limited Partners to facilitate the proper receipt and settlement of stock distributions.
Operational Oversight (Approx. 15% of Role)
+ Manage daily morning operational tasks, including distribution emails, margin call updates, and incoming mail notifications.
+ Support general branch operations and act as a liaison between internal teams and external clients.
Cashiering and Wire Transfers
+ Process end-of-day checks and manage wire transfers for VC clients, ensuring completion by the daily cutoff.
+ Handle an average of 8 wire transactions per day, typically totaling around $3 million.
Account Management
+ Open and maintain approximately 500 venture capital accounts, representing $28 billion in assets under management.
+ Perform ongoing maintenance tasks such as address changes, fund transfers, check requests, and updates to account instructions.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
+ At least 2 years of experience working directly with high-level clients in financial services or investment management
Licenses and Certifications:
+ Series 7 and either Series 63 or 66 required
Systems and Technology:
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and BETA Terminal
