Description Job Opportunity: Tax Accountant – Venture Capital A prominent early-stage venture capital firm investing in frontier technologies like blockchain and artificial intelligence is seeking a Tax Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. This is a unique opportunity to manage the full tax compliance lifecycle while gaining exposure to fund operations, audits, and strategic financial initiatives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Role Overview As a Tax Accountant, you’ll work closely with senior leadership and external advisors to oversee tax compliance across multiple entities. You’ll also contribute to fund operations, audits, and strategic financial projects, helping shape the firm’s approach to a rapidly changing regulatory landscape. Key Responsibilities Tax Compliance & Strategy + Manage tax compliance for funds, general partners, and the management company + Review tax returns, K-1s, and foreign filings prepared by external advisors + Validate estimated tax calculations and ensure timely payments + Conduct tax research and collaborate with advisors on strategic tax positioning + Serve as the primary liaison with tax advisors and independently verify recommendations + Respond to investor inquiries related to tax matters + Lead ad hoc tax research projects to support decision-making Finance & Operations + Review financial reports and prepare quarterly NAV reports + Support annual financial statement preparation and audit processes + Monitor fund performance and update valuations + Participate in capital calls, distributions, and accounts payable + Address finance-related investor inquiries + Contribute to strategic financial analyses and special projects Excited about this opportunity? Requirements What You Bring + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field + 3+ years of tax experience in asset management, with at least 2 years in venture capital or private equity + CPA or equivalent credential required + Experience in tax advisory is a plus + Strong analytical skills and sound judgment in problem-solving + Proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets + Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills + Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and ability to work independently + Passion for emerging technologies such as crypto and AI is a strong advantage Interested in this opportunity?
