Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Repair Technician with expertise in gas vehicle repair, mechanical and electrical diagnostics, welding, and fabrication. This role requires reading and interpreting schematics, along with strong communication and computer skills. You will be working closely within a team to ensure the efficiency and safety of government emission vehicles.
ResponsibilitiesPerform mechanical repairs including welding and fabrication.Conduct electrical diagnoses and wiring repairs.Read and interpret schematics for vehicle systems.Prepare vehicles for government emission standards.Upfit electrical components and install emission probes.Conduct suspension work, brake work, and engine tear-downs.Drop fuel tanks and perform exhaustive system fabrications.Collaborate effectively with team leads and engineers.Participate in weekly business meetings to manage workflows.Essential SkillsMechanical repair and troubleshooting expertise.Electrical diagnostic proficiency.Mechanical aptitude with the ability to tear apart and repair vehicles.Strong wiring repair skills.Experience in building wire harnesses and reading schematics.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-year technical degree preferred, but open to candidates with significant experience.At least 8-10 years of hands-on experience in vehicle repair.Self-motivated, self-starter, and team player.Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities.Optimistic and proactive attitude.Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative, involving regular interaction with team leads and engineers. Weekly meetings are conducted to manage business processes effectively. The role may involve working on prolonged repair tickets, with projects lasting 2-3 weeks. The position is driven by high ticket volume and requires flexibility in managing time and tasks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
