Role Summary This role is responsible for the design, development, integration, and testing of embedded software for vehicle systems, with a focus on signal processing, communication protocols, implementing telemetry solutions, and deploying algorithms on edge computing devices. You will work closely with variety of other engineers to ensure the functionality, performance, and safety of the software. Responsibilities Participate in requirements analysis, focusing on vehicle side telemetry processing, communication protocols, and edge computing needs, and translate them into technical specifications for embedded software. Design, develop, and implement embedded software using programming languages like C, C++, and Go with a focus on: signal processing algorithms, communication protocols, telemetry data collection, formatting, and transmission, optimizing algorithms for execution on edge computing devices Integrate software components with hardware, other software modules, and edge computing platforms Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and system tests to ensure software quality and functionality Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards Debug and troubleshoot software issues Qualifications Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 3+ years of experience in embedded software development. Experience in developing software for automotive or safety-critical systems (a plus). Strong proficiency in C, C++ or Go programming. Solid understanding of signal processing concepts and algorithms. Experience with common automotive communication protocols (e.g., CAN bus, LIN bus, FlexRay, Ethernet). Understanding of embedded systems architecture, real-time operating systems, and edge computing platforms. Experience with debugging tools and techniques. Working knowledge of the Go programming language and its suitability for embedded development or a strong desire to learn Go programming language. Understanding of telemetry principles, data formats, and communication protocols. Experience or knowledge of deploying and optimizing algorithms on edge computing devices. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
